FRONT has used motion capture technology to create these pieces by drawing in 3d what they envision as a model. This is then translated onto a computer program like Form-Z, 3d CAD etc.... then it is sent to a Rapid Prototyping machine to create a real tactile model!! awesome. (ben showed me that one too.)
